Explain- How does A Straw Launcher work?
The Science Behind the Fun
The rocket takes off when air is blown hard into the straw.
When you blow into the straw, the big puff of air gets stopped at the top and pushes back down into the rocket. The force of air pushing down causes the rocket to fly!
When you blow air through the straw, the rush of air inside the straw makes the rocket fly. Interesting right !!
Fins help to stabilize a rocket’s flight. The size and design of the fins on a rocket affect its flight.
DO IT YOURSELF-
- How does the angle you launch your rocket affect the distance it travels? Try out different angles and record the results.
- Can you design your own rockets to attach to the pipette or straw? Which designs work better?
- Try adding another fin to your rocket with tape. How does it affect the flight of your rocket?
