Engage Introduction to Trigonometry
Angles and Triangles
What do triangles have to do with trigonometry? Well, everything!
Let us picture it this way:
You are standing a few metres away from a building, now join the following imaginary dots to form a triangle
Adjacent side Starting from a line that stretches from you until the building
Opposite side Starting from the base of the building to the top
Hypotenuse Starting from the top of the building until it reaches you again
This completes a rightangled triangle which is crucial in trigonometry. So, lines, angles and triangles make up all of the trigonometric values.
But, there is something else, which is equally critical: Ratios
We’ll learn more of that soon enough, so let us dive right into it!
